240W LED Grow Light Lighthouse Hydro BlackStar 240 Watts Flowering
Customer Reviews
I currently have a 4sq ft grow tent with 2 90w ufo's and 1 blackstar 180w led flower panel. My plants were happy and doing well but nothing extraordinary. I added this light to the mix and now all my plants are exploding with tons of flowers. At 290 watts of actual led output my plants were happy now at 475 watts of led output I have hit the sweet spot and they're producing greater results then MH, sodium or t-5's have ever done for me. I've been experimenting with led lights for a while and from what I've learned so far is, you must use at least 1 watt per light. Using multiple 90 watt to 240 watt led lights is better than using 1 huge 600 watt led. You get a larger sweet spot. 90 watt led's are good for 2sq feet only. the 240 watt lights are good for 3' by 2', no more. 2' x 2' is better. And most importantly the height of your LED's play the biggest role. I keep the LED's 2 feet above the plants if I want them to stretch a bit and 12 to 16 inches if I want them to get bushier. I have noticed some stressing keeping the leds a few inches from the canopy plus at that height your only getting about 10sq inches of coverage. Led's are not cheap but they are far cheaper on the electric bill and I have NO heat issues. The temperature in my tent 2 inches below the lights are 78. 76 at canopy level and 75 outside my tent. I have 2 clip on fans for ventilation only. For me Led grow lights are here to stay. I just wish they were priced better.
I was blinded when i first turned this on, but I did leave it face up next to me when this happened. There's a white led, a uv(invisible) one, six blues and 72 reds (half 660 half 630). They use a picture for the three band light when there are six bands of light(band=color). Plants will definitely thrive under it. Garden plants would do well 1 1/2-3' underneath depending on how you wanna stretch them. Use it like a 400w hps except it has no problem with heat. It seems to be a good flowering light, and a great vegetative! Definitely a great deal next to same priced 90 watt grow lights. I never got how 90/120/180 watt led's would be above $200 when this extremely powerful light is only 270!
Led's are definitely more energy efficient using only 1/2 wattage for typical growing (only $15 for two months of 12/12 cycle) and last 10x longer than 400 watt HID lights for the same grow.
PS since plants are green they absorb red and blue light. thats how you get that nice dark color on plants under led grow lights.
-UPDATE-
Not sure how indoor is supposed to grow but my plants grew 1 1/2 feet in a month under this light. Other plants did well even when I brought them from outside to inside under this light(not recommended at all). The wattage depends on "line purity" for your voltage, and most people were around 60% advertised wattage :/
